All of the chains and findings (clasps, jump rings, etc.) are 14k gold-filled. This means that a thick layer of gold is mechanically bonded to the base metal. The pearl chain has a base of 316L stainless steel, while the other chains/findings have a brass core. They are tarnish resistant, waterproof and hypoallergenic!
The pendants are made of hard enamel. This is enamel that is polished, increasing the durability and scratch resistance as compared to soft (unpolished) enamel! Due to the nature of enamel in general, it’s best to try to avoid getting it wet frequently :)
The base of the pendants are made of 316L stainless steel. This is jewelry quality stainless steel that is hypoallergenic and corrosion and tarnish-free! They are then coated with 18k gold using a process called PVD (physical vapor deposition). Unlike normal gold plating, which can wear off over time, PVD coatings use high pressure to bind to the base metal leading to a coating that is much stronger and more durable :)
